Floss Is King

Brushing alone does not remove bacteria in the base of your gums. If you don't floss, your teeth will fall out. Here's how: bacteria starts to eat away at your gums resulting in inflammation of your gums called gingivitis. Gingivitis, if left untreated, turns into gum disease resulting in bone loss. Bone loss causes teeth to fall out. Dentists call gum disease the silent killer because you typically don't feel pain until its too late. In fact flossing is actually more important than brushing.

Brush For Full 2 Minutes

In order to effectively remove plaque, each quadrant of the mouth must be brushed for at least 30 seconds. On average, people brush for 47 seconds. No bueno.

Eat and Drink, But Be Sure To Think

Excessive snacking between meals, especially sweet things like candy, will result in excessive bacteria buildup. The buildup turns into plaque. If this plaque is not removed, it can cause a cavity.

Come In For A Check-Up

Here's why. Your dentist will examine your gums and bone levels. Usually they can catch things before they become a big problem. Also chances are your flossing isn't perfect and this means a higher chance of plaque buildup and cavities. All of this if left untreated, will result into tooth loss. You don't want to lose your teeth, do you?
